Professional Avatars - Nick Acs - Comic Artist

Photos First Dan had a lot of photo reference on his Facebook page - so it was quite easy for him to pull out the ones he thought best reflected his personality, and the overall image he wanted to portray in the Avatar.

The Concept For Dan he wanted clarity. “I’m a Director of Photography - I should be holding a camera...” So we decided a static pose of Dan’s Avatar holding a camera would be clear, and geared for many uses, even beyond the internet.

The Art Armed with photos and a simple concept, I first did a line drawing sketch. After, I coloured the drawing to Dan’s specification.

It’s important to note that when the Art is delivered, you recieve three file types. One is a standard JPG, the next is a PNG with the background transparent, and the third is the original high resolution Photoshop PSD file, complete with all the layers.

Photoshop Layers Clients love the Photoshop Layers the most. They are able to easily change the colours of their Avatar, resize, add elements (like a logo on their shirt), all to suit whatever use they need.

Clients use their Avatars for the web (Facebook, MySpace, Huffington, Twitter, etc.), as well as for print (postcards, business cards, professional letterheads, stickers, etc.). With a high-resolution image, the uses are endless.
